San-dong Zong-yuan

Taoism has its origin in the three caves, with the three caves as the three elements, and the basic beliefs and scripture system of Taoism are all originated from this, which is the fundamental element of Taoism.

The three caves are the beginning of the chaos of the universe, which is called “One is divided into three elements, and three elements are the beginning of the universe. It is said that “one is divided into three elements, three elements change into three gases, three gases change into three talents, three talents are nourished, and all things are ready”.

However, “the three holes of the yuan, the original with the Taoist qi, Taoist qi only one, the application of the three”. This is the “cloud book seven sign” on the three holes of the basic discussion of Zongyuan. In a nutshell, the “Tao” qi is derived into three elements, which are: the first mixed hole Taiwuyuan; the second red mixed Taiwuyuan; and the third meditative and quiet Xuantongyuan.

From the three yuan changes into three qi, three qi are the beginning, Yuan, Xuan three qi, and then from the three qi to produce all things. The process of its creation is, before the chaos, the beginning of the Yuan Qi. Yuan Qi runs, and then heaven and earth are established. In the Tao Te Ching, it is said that the Tao gives birth to one, one to two, two to three, and three to everything.
As the faith of “Tao” that transforms all things, there is a more important aspect of the Three Caves, namely, the Three Treasures. The first Tianbaojun is born from the mixed hole Taiwuyuan; the second Lingbaojun is born from the red mixed Taiwuyuan; and the third Shenbaojun is born from the meditative Xuantongyuan. The three treasures are ruled in the three Qing realms, so the three treasures are also known as the three Qing.

Tianbaojun ruled in the realm of Yuqing, i.e., Qingweitian, whose gas is green; Lingbaojun ruled in the realm of Shangqing, i.e., Yuyuitian, whose gas is yellow; and Shenbaojun ruled in the realm of Taiqing, i.e., Dazhiitian, whose gas is white. All the three elements have the same Taoist qi, therefore, although the names of the three treasures are different, they are the same as one.
Sanbaojun, Sanqing, Taoism, the full name of the Yuqing Yuanshi Tianzun, on the Qing Lingbao Tianzun, Taiqing Daode Tianzun (Taishang Laojun). For the highest god of Taoism, is the gods of the ancestors, the ancestors of the creation. He is also the master of the scriptures, and has passed down the 36 true scriptures of the three caves for Taoism.

Taoism Three Caves Zongyuan: Tianbaojun said twelve scriptures, for the Cave True God; Lingbaojun said twelve scriptures, for the Cave Xuan God; Shenbaojun said twelve scriptures, for the Cave God God. The three dongs are synthesized into thirty-six sacred scriptures. The scriptures of the three dongs have their own target audience, so that they are in line with the grade of Taoism cultivation. Those who begin to cultivate the human way of life will enter the immortal stage and ascend to the realm of non-exhaustion, therefore, the first teaching is based on the Cave God Sacred Scriptures.

Secondly, the wisdom becomes more and more refined, and he advances to the middle realm, so the middle teaching is based on the Dongxuan Lingbaojing. Finally, one can ascend to the realm of no stagnation in the use of wisdom, therefore, the upper sect uses the Dongzhen Tianbaojing. The purpose was to induce the common people to cultivate immortality through the culture of scripture and religion, and to prove the Way from the mortal world. Therefore, the compilation of the “Taoist Collection” in the later generations is to “three holes and four auxiliaries” to the examples, and constructed a “three holes Zongyuan” as the belief of the scripture system.
