Hefei City God Temple

Hefei City God Temple, a Taoist temple located in Hefei City, Anhui Province. It was built in 1051 during the Northern Song Dynasty and renovated in 1871 during the Qing Dynasty. The main hall stands over 5 zhang tall, with a tin gourd atop its roof.

The theater stage is approximately 3 meters high, said to have been constructed according to Li Hongzhang’s instructions, modeled after the theater stage within the Summer Palace in Beijing. It was historically used for theatrical performances to entertain the deities.

The entire temple complex features a rigorous structural design and a well-planned layout. It was once one of the most renowned Daoist temples in Hefei.
