Baiyun Temple, Lanzhou
Lanzhou Baiyun Temple, a Daoist temple. Located on the south bank of the Yellow River at Leitanhekou in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province.
According to Chen Lian’s “Baiyun Temple Stele Inscription,” the temple was first built in the 16th year of the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty (1836).
The temple faces north, with the Yellow River in front, and originally consisted of four parts: east, central, west, and rear, forming a large-scale complex. The various halls, pavilions, corridors, and Daoist quarters, as well as the overall layout, all exhibit distinct Qing Dynasty architectural styles.
However, the temple has suffered repeated damage over the years, and today only three main halls, the bell and drum towers, and the opera stage remain.
It is one of the larger Daoist Quanzhen Ten Directions Monasteries in the Lanzhou region and currently serves as the headquarters of the Gansu Province Daoist Association and the Lanzhou City Daoist Association.
