Songgu Temple, Huangshan

Huangshan Songgu An Daoist monastery. Located at the foot of Diezhang Peak in the northern part of Huangshan Mountain in Huangshan City, Anhui Province, it was originally named Songgu Caotang.

The exact date of its establishment is unknown. During the Baohu era of Emperor Lizong of the Song Dynasty (1253–1258), the Daoist priest Zhang Yinfu retired here to practice his faith. During the Xuande era of the Ming Dynasty (1426–1435), it was rebuilt and renamed Songgu An. The abbey is surrounded by lush bamboo forests and dotted with numerous ponds, creating a serene and picturesque environment.
